A little bit about us…

Who are we?

Mitcham Community House is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary Committee of elected community members.

COVID-19 Restrictions

In the current landscape, it is important that any person who enters Mitcham Community House is clear about the behavioural expectations and health and hygiene protocols in place. All staff, participants, external contractors, volunteers and other members of the Mitcham Community House community intending to return to on-site programs and activities at Mitcham Community House must read and abide by these procedures. Where are we?

We are located in the leafy Melbourne suburb of Mitcham, just down the road from the train station. We offer a wide range of recreational and educational classes and activities during the Victorian School term. All classes are led by our qualified and experienced tutors. Looking for something shorter than a school term, we offer a variety of short courses and information sessions with the aim of keeping you updated with the latest information.

What do we do?

Try out our wide range of fitness classes, Learn new Language and Art skills, meet other mums, drop in for a cuppa, hold your kid’s party, rent rooms for your next activity or make new friends through our wide range of social activities, classes & volunteering.

Please feel free to browse the web site for courses you may be interested in. You can find us in the leafy suburb of Mitcham, just down the road from the train station.

See what our customers are saying.

Our happy customers have a lot to say about our staff and services!

I just wanted to say I attended the ‘art in bark’ course with robin over the last two weeks and enjoyed it immensely. It was amazing to see our pictures come to life. I’d like to thank Robin for her patience, her skills and for sharing her knowledge.

The Wiser Driver

Recently I completed a four-session wiser driver program at Mitcham community house – coordinated by hawthorn community house and generously supported and subsidised by Whitehorse council.

Our course sessions were run by Bette Attwood, a veteran tutor of this informative and thought-provoking package. Each participant was given two VicRoads handbooks, which between them covers, everything an older driver needs to know to feel more confident and traffic-aware when driving?on our busy roads.

At our final session, the class received a certificate of achievement and was further rewarded with a top-notch afternoon tea generously provided by Whitehorse council.

Thank you to all concerned for a very worthwhile exercise in promoting road safety awareness
