There is risk inherent in any exercise class. It is your responsibility to inform your teacher/instructor at the beginning of the class or at any time during the class, if you are feeling unwell or experiencing any pain or discomfort. If you are pregnant, you need to check with the tutor if the class is suitable for you.Our YOGA classes are not suitable for pregnant women. Students enrolling in our Health & Wellbeing classes are required to fill in a Health Form as well as a General Enrolment form.
Yoga cultivates health and wellbeing (physical, emotional, mental and social) through the regular practice of a range of many different techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation.
The Pilates method was established in the 1920’s by Joseph Pilates. It is a system of exercises that can be practised on a mat or on specific small or large equipment. Mat Pilates are Pilates exercises practised on a Mat. The exercises help build strength using body weight exercises and/or small apparatus. The emphasis is on strengthening core muscles in particularly the transverse abdominus and pelvic floor muscles. These core muscles are important for providing stability for your spine, pelvis and hips, allowing you to move with much greater control and balance.
Drift away into your own world of relaxation and clarity of mind. Experience the bliss of stress relief and inner peace through guided visualization, breathing, gentle stretching and meditation. Don’t forget to bring your blanket!
These gentle, non-strenuous, medically modified forms of Tai Chi are easy to learn. Improve your health & fitness, boost your energy levels and deepen your relaxation. Wear loose clothing & flat heeled shoes.
Lose a little weight, strengthen your bones and muscles, and improve your cardio fitness. You’ll use a range of light barbells to increase muscle tone and improve your strength levels. Beginners welcome!
