Hatha Yoga & Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is Great when you’re returning to exercise after an injury or surgery. It’s easy to progress at your own pace and level. It accomplishes all exercises with the aid of a Chair.

Yoga cultivates health and wellbeing (physical, emotional, mental and social) through the regular practice of a range of many techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation.


Mat Pilates

Get ready to experience life-changing exercise, Pilates style! This workout with a difference will get your rhythm, flow, and focus happening while you stretch and balance your entire body.

I have been teaching at the Mitcham Community House since 2009. I now teach 3 Classes in Strength Training for Older Adults and 2 Pilates Classes at Mitcham Community House. My aim is to help people strengthen their Core and Muscles, increase Balance and Flexibility, and help with Joint Mobility. ~Birgit V

Tai Chi & Qi Gong

These gentle, non-strenuous, medically modified forms of Tai Chi are easy to learn. Improve your health & fitness, boost your energy levels, and deepen your relaxation. Wear loose clothing & flat-heeled shoes.


Strength training, Balance Exercise, & Chair Based Exercise

Lose a little weight, strengthen your bones and muscles, and improve your cardio fitness. You’ll use a range of light barbells to increase muscle tone and improve your strength levels. Beginners welcome!


Walking

Enjoy a walk at your own pace through our local parks. *All walks are weather permitting. Bring some money. There may be a coffee shop near the end of the walk. Walks begin at the venues listed below. We have a few groups to choose from.

This is a Social group who Walk n Talk together in the local area, leaving from the Community House, during school terms.
